BROKEN HALO RESCUE
Frequently asked questions
Broken halo is my [Kristy Williamson] baby and started in November 2015.
My love for dogs has always been the main focus of my life since I was 12 years old and went on an outing to a rescue in south Africa, where I grew up. From then on I've always wanted to work with animals and that has always come naturally to me.
The adoption fee for dogs based in the UK is £360 and dogs who are abroad or originate from abroad is £550 - we do not offer payment plans so all adoption fees must be paid in full before the adoption process is complete.
All of our animals are flea, wormed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered (unless on a neuter contract due to age), therefore the adoption fee helps to cover this and also goes towards helping the next abandoned or abused animal to safety and find their forever home.
Yes, We rehome to all kinds of people and families living in different types of home so it just depends on the needs of the animal - we assess each application individually and will decide if you’ll be able to meet the animals needs such as diet, exercise, home setup training and if now is the right time for you to foster or adopt and go from there.
If you wish to apply for any of the animals shown on our site then please ...
...once you have filled this in, please either I drop a comment on your chosen animals rehoming post on Facebook, email us, or send us a message on WhatsApp, or sms (on 07341446775), to let us know and we will then review your application and be in touch if we are able to proceed with your application.
Unfortunately, we are not able to individually respond to every single applicant - we receive hundreds of applications for our animals each week and as we are only a small team of volunteers, it is impossible to do so as we simply do not have the time, however please be assured it is not anything personal; we only want the right homes for both our animals and their foster / adopter so need to take the time to ensure it’s a good match and we may have a more suitable animal for you in the future.
Aggressive and abusive behaviour including swearing or threats of violence will not be tolerated and anyone found doing so will be permanently blocked from our page and your application removed with immediate effect - our team work tirelessly each day on a voluntary basis despite having busy lives of their own and have the right to be treated with dignity and respect at all times so please be patient and understanding as we really are doing our best, Thank you

We are a very tiny not-for-profit organisation.
We work day in and out to help dogs and cats.
We do our best to rehab dogs and find suitable homes for them.
We offer rescue back up for life and we always keep in touch and offer support where needed to adopters, fosterers and even the general public.
We are foster based [by this we mean that unlike most other animal rescues we do not have an actual physical central point/animal rescue centre where are our animals are kept while awaiting adoption.
We operate in a decentralised way, all our animals awaiting adoptions are held with volunteer foster families and individual fosterers at various points across the whole of the UK.
In some circumstances, despite it not being ideal either for us as an organisation or from the animals perspective, when there are no volunteers or fosters available we are forced to temporarily house our animals in trusted kennels - we only do this in absolute emergencies (It is a costly process and Broken Halo Rescue picks up the bill as part of its rescue mission).
Obviously it can cause them even more stress and anxiety, as well heightening the possibility of causing social, socialisation and issues related to behavioural problems.
After what these poor animals have already been through more insecurity and stress is the last thing they need so as we have said above using kennels is our last option and only used in an emergency, and for the least length of time possible
