Meet Poppy - born in the UK

Poppy is a beautiful 8-month-old Dachshund (turning 8 months on September 24th) who is currently in foster care.

She’s full of personality.

Shes playful, cheeky, and incredibly clever, but she’s also a sensitive girl who needs patience, guidance, and lots of love to help her continue blossoming.

We would love to find someone with BREED EXPERIENCE.

 About Poppy

 • Age: 8 months

 • Breed: Dachshund

 • Health: Fully flea & worm treated, second vaccination booked for September 18th

 • Training: Partially house-trained (goes to the back door—needs a quick response!)

 • Diet: Raw food (chicken with bones, sweet potato, spinach, carrots) with treats throughout the day

 Personality

 • Playful & Energetic: Loves to play with her foster dog friend and enjoys zoomies around the home

 • Nervous Outside: Poppy wasn’t socialized properly in her previous home, so the outside world feels big and scary. She’s improving with daily walks but will need continued encouragement and positive experiences.

 • Clever & Cheeky: Picks things up quickly and can be mischievous—she’ll keep you smiling!

 • Lead Training: She does pull and bark at almost everything on walks. With time, patience, and consistent training, she’ll learn to be calmer.

 • Food: Not overly food-driven but enjoys treats; good at sharing food and water with other dogs (though will happily help herself if food is left within reach!).

 Ideal Home

 • Other Pets: Can live with a very calm, chilled-out dog (not tested with cats).

 • Children: Best suited to a home with children aged 10+ due to her nervous nature.

 • Owner Experience: Needs someone patient, confident, and consistent who can dedicate time to her training and help her build confidence with the outside world.
