"I started volunteering at a rescue growing up in south Africa when I was 12/13 yrs old. We went on a field trip to Animal Anti-Cruelty League and I was hooked. I've grown up with animals all my life and for the most part they have always been the best part of my life, the only constant, the only safe thing in my childhood. I started broken halo in 2015 to help a dog abandoned in kennels by another rescue. Since then I have dedicated my life, time, finances etc to helping animals. I just naturally understand them and am able to help others in this way. "
